Three Nebraska classrooms are this year’s winner in the Nebraska Farm Bureau’s “Day @ the Farm” video contest. President Steve Nelson says the three grand prize winners this year are from Jefferson Elementary in Grand Island, Southern Public School in Wymore and St. Vincent DePaul in Omaha. A classroom in each of the schools submitted a video of what they thought life would be like without Nebraska agriculture. Each winning classroom will receive an all expense paid field trip to a farm later this spring.
Nelson says the goal of the contest is to promote agriculture literacy. Classrooms, grades K-12 were invited to submit a video. Students at St. Vincent DePaul were visited by Nelson and Douglas County Farm Bureau member and farmer Ryan Ueberrhein. He will host those students on a tour of his farm near Elkhorn later this year.
