A landowner in the Panhandle has shot and killed a young mountain lion.
The Game and Parks Commission reports a landowner from Sheridan County shot the mountain lion Friday, because it approached his chicken coop. The landowner called Game and Parks and reported that the lion didn’t move when he walked within 15 yards of it.
Game and Parks reports the lion was a female, weighing 30 pounds.
Landowners are allowed by law to protect their livestock from predators, including mountain lions.
