An argument over a dice game leads to Lincoln’s second murder of the year.
“The Lincoln Police Department is investigating the shooting death of Nathaniel Morton, Sr.,”
Lincoln Police Chief Jim Peschong told reporters during a briefing this morning.
Peschong reports that Morton, who was 38, was shot dead after arguing with another gambler.
“Evidently there was a gathering there of possibly up to about a couple of dozen people. There was some gambling, such as rolling dice that was occurring. An argument wound up breaking out that subsequently turned physical. A gun was pulled out and Mr. Morton was shot once in the chest,” according to Peschong.
The crowd scattered after the shooting and before police could arrive, leaving little to go on.
No suspect has been arrested.
