Thirty-six-year-old Joshua Feyes and his fiancé, 36-year-old Melissa Janssen, were scheduled for preliminary hearings in Cheyenne County Court this week but never showed, forfeiting a total of $20,000 bond and causing local authorities to issue nationwide arrest warrants on a multitude of felony charges.
The out-of-state couple was arrested in January after being pulled over for speeding on I-80 near Sidney. The State Patrol alleges the pair had nearly 85 ounces of marijuana and 65 ounces of hashish in glass jars and food baggies in an overhead luggage rack.
Both suspects are facing five drug felonies and will be charged with another felony for skipping court this week.
The Cheyenne County Attorney’s Office says most of the forfeited $20,000 bond will go to local schools.
