Ground will be broken in about a month in Sidney on a new medical center.
Dirt will begin to fly at the site of Sidney Regional Medical Center’s new hospital building on May 28th.
SRMC’s Board of Directors gave approval Tuesday to build a new $53 million facility in the East Sidney Expansion development.
The hospital will have 25 private care rooms, a 4-bed ICU, a trio of high-tech surgical suites and helicopter pad.
Chief of Staff Dr. Mandy Shaw says the new Sidney hospital will have more exam rooms and additional providers to address the community’s healthcare needs.
The new hospital should be ready for operations by fall 2015 and is being funded without any public tax dollars.
