In 1962 actress Patty Duke won an Oscar for her role as Helen Keller in “The Miracle Worker”. On May 23, Duke will be in Omaha for a special screening of the classic film.
Film historian and organizer of the classic film event Bruce Crawford says Duke will speak prior to the viewing. He says this is a powerful film and serves as an inspiration to those with disabilities and how they can be overcome.
The event will be held at the Joslyn Art Museum. Tickets are $22 and go on sale today at all Omaha area Hy-Vee stores. Proceeds will go to the Omaha Parks Foundation.
