On Tuesday, the Supreme Court upheld a decision spearheaded by the Environmental Protection Agency that would limit the emissions from power plants that cross state lines. Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer is disappointed with the high courts decision saying it will impact Nebraskans.
This ruling will impact 27 Midwest and Appalachian states.
Senator Fischer says Nebraska is a public power state. We are the owners of those plants and we will be hit as the owner as well as a consumer of electricity and rates will go up. She says this comes at a very poor time when incomes continue to shrink and family budgets can’t afford another hit.
Senator Fischer is also worried that the Obama Administration, through the Environmental Protection Agency, will continue to push their climate agenda.
