State Auditor Mike Foley thanks his supporters after finishing fourth in Tuesday’s Republican Primary for Nebraska Governor. Despite the end result, Foley was pleased with how his campaign was run and all of the help he received along the way.
Foley placed fourth in the six-man GOP race. The state auditor had received endorsements from Congressman Jeff Fortenberry and former Congressman and Nebraska football coach Tom Osborne.
The race for Foley’s position as state auditor this fall will be contested between Republican Charlie Janssen and Democrat Amanda McGill, both veteran members of the state legislature. Pete Ricketts won the GOP primary, with Jon Bruning in second, Beau McCoy in third, followed by Foley, Tom Carlson, and Bryan Slone.
