Jimmy Paredes hit the first cycle at Werner Park, in the Omaha Storm Chasers (16-20) 19-1 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs (17-21). It was the first cycle in Omaha since Scott Thorman on August 29, 2010 during the final homestand at Rosenblatt Stadium.
Paredes was 0-for-2 when he hit a grand slam in the fourth inning, then went on to hit a two-RBI triple in the sixth, a RBI double in the seventh and a RBI single in the eighth. The eight RBI for Paredes were the second most for a Storm Chaser this season.
The 18-run win for Omaha was the largest margin of victory in the history of Werner Park, and was the first time they have won by at least 18 runs since August 30, 2010 when they defeated Round Rock 23-5 (Mike Moustakas notably had 11 RBI in that game, a modern PCL record).
