As Nebraskans hit the polls today a recent poll shows that voter enthusiasm is at its lowest level for a mid-term election in at least 20 years. That poll shows that Republicans are more enthusiastic about the mid-term than Democrats.
Hassan Giordano is a national political insider and campaign consultant and says typically Republicans are more enthusiastic about a primary election than Democrats. He says Republicans in general are more concerned about taking back branches of government as opposed to just the presidency. He says, “Democrats seem to get excited during presidential elections and not so much during mid-terms. Democrats don’t do a very good job bringing out their base which is usually minorities, women and those younger who don’t seem to be as enthusiastic about a mid-term.”
The poll shows that 53% voters are less enthusiastic about the November election than the one back in 2010 while 35% say they are more excited about the event.
