This is a great week to stop and smell the roses – or in this case wildflowers. May 30th through June 8th is Wildflower Week in Nebraska. Karma Larsen is the communications director for the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum and says many of the state’s prairies and gardens are at their prime.
There are dozens of events in honor of Wildflower Week. They include:

Pollination Ramble at LauritzenGardens in Omaha on June 7
Wildflower Tour & Sale at the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum in Lincoln on June 7
Griffith Prairie Fun Run near Marquette on June 7
Display of books on wildflowers at the Beatrice Public Library May 30 – June 8
Darby Springs Prairie Walk near Ceresco on May 31.
Gardening with Prairie Plants presentation in Wayne on June 4.
