Nebraska assistant coaches Carrie Lane and Billy Maxwell were honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday as they were selected as the Midwest Region Women’s and Men’s Assistant Coaches of the Year. Lane, in her third year as throws coach at Nebraska, has led the Huskers to four NCAA finals bids. In his 19th season with the Huskers, Maxwell coached the NU men’s sprinters, hurdlers and relay teams to eight bids for the NCAA finals, The Huskers begin competition at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore today. 21 Huskers have qualified.
