A Lincoln man has been charged with first degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a 31-year-old Lincoln man this past weekend.
Lincoln Police Chief Jim Peschong says 26-year-old Danny Tucker is accused of killing Earl Richardson III, who he had argued with earlier.
“And, Mr. Tucker then wound up coming back with a firearm and then shooting Mr. Richardson,” Peschong told reporters during a media briefing Monday morning.
Peschong says the earlier argument late Friday night at a neighborhood barbecue escalated.
“They knew one another and there was an argument with a physical altercation over a drug debt that ultimately wound up turning into one of them using a gun on the other one,” according to Peschong.
The investigation indicates Tucker was standing over Richardson when he fire the shots; one in the leg, the other in the back.
It is the fourth homicide in Lincoln this year.
