Cocaine, with an estimated street value of one million dollars, has been seized by the Nebraska State Patrol after a traffic stop on Interstate 80 outside Lincoln.
According to NSP, a trooper stopped a large SUV for speeding in Seward County Saturday morning. Several packages in the rear passenger compartment looked suspicious to the trooper who seized them through a probable cause search. Seventeen packages of cocaine weighing a total of nearly 60 pounds had been stashed throughout the vehicle, according to the patrol.
The driver, 39-year-old Sonia Hernandez of Norwalk, CA, and a passenger, 21-year-old Freddy Hernandez Jr. of Dry Fork, VA, have both been charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell it.
