A 52-year-old western Nebraska man has been struck and killed by lightning while visiting Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.
A spokesman for the park says lightning struck four people near Trail Ridge Road late Saturday afternoon.
All four were rushed to a hospital. 52-year-old Gregory Cardwell of Scottsbluff died of his injuries.
No fatalities from lightning had been recorded at Rocky Mountain National Park since 2000.
Cardwell was the second fatality of the weekend. The park reports 42-year-old Rebecca Teilhet of Yellow Springs, OH died Friday after being struck and killed by lightning in the park.
