When it comes to the top 100 best cities in the U-S for recreation, Omaha comes in number three. WalletHub.com conducted the study on the importance of recreational facilities, parks and green spaces that helps improve health, physical activity and property values. CEO Odysseas Papadimitrious says they also considered the costs for entertainment and Omaha is very competitive when it comes to bowling, movies, alcohol and hair salons however Nebraska’s largest city lacks affordable, quality restaurants.
Papadimitrious says per-capita Omaha placed 4th in the number of tennis courts, 4th for golf courses, 12th for public swimming pools, 7th for baseball diamonds, 25th for basketball courts, 6th for playgrounds and 31st for attractions. He says Omaha didn’t place well when it comes to weather, coming in 73rd. (50 is considered average).
Other cities making the top five include Cincinnati, Orlando, Minneapolis and Tampa.
