Thousands of Nebraskans walked the halls of Tech High School in Omaha. The school opened in 1923 and was specifically dedicated to teaching trades such as wood and metal work, mechanics, science laboratory skills to cooking and sewing. Tech high closed in 1984 and a huge reunion for all graduates and classmates this weekend.
Actor and Nebraska native John Beasley is in town for the reunion and he says more schools like this are needed. He says he learned about the theater and acting at Tech High School and when students graduated they were ready to hit the work force.
Other famous graduates of Tech High include Bob Boozer, Johnny Rogers and Bob Gibson. The reunion is this weekend at the Century Link Center in Omaha.
