The Creighton Volleyball team dropped out of the AVCA Top-25 released on Monday, but did receive enough votes to come in 29th in the first regular-season ranking of the fall. The Huskers, after dropping both opening weekend matches against #13 Florida State and #3 Stanford, fell from 7th to 12th.
Creighton returns to action this weekend with three matches at the Commonwealth Classic in Lexington, Ky. CU opens play 4 pm on Friday vs. Northern Iowa, then meets No. 6 USC on Saturday at 10 am before closing out play at 6:30 pm vs. No. 16 Kentucky. It’s part of CU’s challenging non-conference schedule that sees four of its next eight opponents in the top-16 of this week’s poll.
The Huskers will hit the road for the first time this season at the Flyer-Raider Invitational next weekend in Dayton, Ohio. NU will play at Dayton on Friday at 6 p.m. (Central) and then face CSU Bakersfield at 10 a.m. and Eastern Kentucky at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
