An 18-year-old Lincoln man faces a charge of vehicular homicide and driving while under the influence after a fatal wreck just outside Lincoln late Sunday morning.
Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner says Christopher Cazun refused to take a chemical test after the wreck and is also charged with reckless driving and driving under suspension.
Wagner says that Cazun’s vehicle was traveling southbound on Highway 77 when he struck the rear of a black Chevy Avalanche.
“We have a witness, very closed to the crash, who indicated she was almost struck in the rear by Cazun also, before he was able to pass her safely and get around her without crashing,” according to Wagner.
Killed in the wreck was 50-year-old Randall Woita of Weston, a passenger in the Avalanche. The driver, 42-year-old Tamara Theye of Kearney and another passenger, 18-year-old Rhea Woita of Wahoo, were hospitalized in Lincoln with non-life threatening injuries.
Cazun has been jailed in Lincoln.
