“Nebraska one – Ebola zero”
That from Dr. Jeffrey Gold, Chancellor of the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Dr. Rick Sacra received the all clear and was officially released Thursday morning from the Nebraska Medical Center’s biocontainment unit.
During a news conference, Dr. Sacra gave a big thank you to his medical team who provided around-the-clock care for three weeks.
Dr. Sacra says he is still very weak and realizes he will not recover overnight. He plans to concentrate on his recovery and will decide later if he will return to Liberia. Dr. Sacra contracted the deadly virus while working in a hospital there through a missionary group.
Dr. Sacra is looking forward to going home to Worcester, Massachusetts. After getting some much deserved sleep he is most looking forward to walking his dog.
