Omaha’s popular bike sharing program has a new name and continues to expand. Program Director Ben Turner says Omaha B-Cycle is now Heartland B-Cycle and they added 20 new kiosks for residents to rent a bike and enjoy a ride.
Turner says many riders take the bikes across the river into Council Bluffs, Iowa. That is why the opened six new kiosks in Council Bluffs so riders on both sides of the river can take advantage of the program. This is the second two-state bike sharing program in the nation.
Turner says they now have a total of 31 kiosks in the two state area located from downtown Council Bluffs to west Omaha at Village Pointe.
