The American Civil Liberties Union will challenge Nebraska’s ban on same-sex marriage, again.
The ACLU filed a lawsuit seeking to overturn the ban in 2003. A federal judge agreed and struck down the law in 2005, but a three-judge panel of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overruled the judge and reinstated the ban.
Officials with the ACLU in Nebraska say recent rulings from the United States Supreme Court encouraged them to again attempt to overturn the law.
