Two Southeast Community College coeds have been arrested after police say resident assistants found nearly two pounds of marijuana in their dorm in Beatrice.
Beatrice Police Sergeant Brian Carver say police got a call late Monday evening and responded to Washington Hall.
“A couple of residence assistants smelled the odor of marijuana. They searched the dorm room and found some marijuana, then notified us,” Carver tells Nebraska Radio Network affiliate KWBE.
Carver says police recover 794 grams of marijuana, nearly two pounds.
The dorm room was unoccupied at the time.
Authorities later arrested 18-year-old Kristen Hatfield and 18-year-old Alicia Smith; both charged with suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and intent to sell it.
Doug Kennedy, KWBE, contributed to this report.
