A crash in northeast Nebraska has injured a Thurston County Sheriff’s Deputy.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports 23-year-old Deputy Nicholas Carlson of Emerson suffered a leg injury when his pick-up crashed with a semi tractor-trailer near Pender on Highway 94.
NSP reports the wreck occurred Tuesday afternoon at the crest of a hill on Highway 94. The semi was crossing Highway 94 from a county road when Carlson crested the hill in his pick-up. Carlson attempt to avoid the truck, but his pick-up struck the rear of the semi.
Carlson is being treated at Mercy Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa. The truck driver, 25-year-old Zachery Tietz of Bancroft was not injured.
NSP says the accident remains under investigation.
