Holiday parties are in full swing and a reminder from AAA – Nebraska… never drink and drive. Spokesperson Rose White says Nebraska statistics show that one-third of all deadly crashes in Nebraska are alcohol or drug related.
White says one drink can be one too many as people don’t realize that some mixed drinks have alcohol content two or three times higher than a glass of wine or bottle of beer. She says there is one simple rule to remember and that is never drink and then drive.
AAA-Nebraska reminds drivers the penalties for driving under the influence may cost thousands of dollars in fines, loss of driving privileges, jail time, cancellation of auto insurance and possibly loss of employment. Those intoxicated and involved in a crash that causes loss of life could result in a conviction of motor vehicle homicide.
