The U-S is receiving criticism from other countries after the Senate released a report detailing interrogation techniques used by the CIA on terror suspects.
Former Nebraska U-S Senator and 8 year member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Bob Kerrey, is blasting his former Democratic colleagues for the report they penned. He says Democrats did nothing to get Republicans on board and that could have led to constructive recommendations.
Kerrey also sat on the 9/11 Commission and says they seem to have a memory lapse of the urgency to prevent another terrorist attack on the U-S. Kerrey recalls at the time Congress gave the ok to do whatever was needed to get the information. He says because terrorists wear no uniforms, no organized military and it is very difficult to know who they are and where they are in order to keep the country safe.
Kerrey says, “I’m sure it wasn’t pretty what happened over the last 13 years. What I do know I’m damn grateful we haven’t been attacked again and I give an awful lot of credit to these guys for getting the job done.”
Kerrey also criticized those responsible for the report for not interviewing some CIA personnel and relying on email and memos.
