According to NSP, a Hay Springs couple offered a trooper six grams of marijuana and two psychedelic mushrooms for the gaming system. 30-year-old Christopher Ames and 26-year-old Casandra Agnes have been arrested on multiple charges.
NSP says Ames answered an online ad for an Xbox for sale in the Chadron area. Ames sent a text stating he didn’t have any money, but did have drugs he was willing to trade for the Xbox. The text went directly to the seller, a Nebraska State Patrol trooper.
NSP, the WING Drug Task Force, and the Chadron Police Department arranged for the trooper to meet the couple in a parking lot in Chadron. After the offer to exchange drugs for the Xbox, the couple was arrested.
Three children, ranging in age from two to six, were with the couple at the time. They have been placed with the Department of Health and Human Services.
Ames faces a variety of charges from Box Butte, Dawes, and Sheridan Counties while Agnes faces charges from Dawes and Sheridan Counties. Both have been jailed in Dawes County.
