Nebraska-Kearney’s Connor Beranek has been named the MIAA Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week.

Connor had 17 points & 16 rebounds (all defensive) in the Lopers’ 65-64 home win over 8th-ranked Central Missouri on Saturday night. Rebounding a missed shot with 14 seconds to go, he was fouled on the play. He hit the two free throws to provide the winning margin.

This is Beranek’s first double-double of the year.

The 6-6 junior forward is a native of Ravenna, Neb. where he competed at Ravenna High School prior to spending one season at Doane College.
