Two shooting deaths within 2 hours in Omaha

Two people were shot and killed with two hours this morning in Omaha. Police near 99th and Maple Streets in the city’s northwest region were flagged down by citizen at 6:30 am. . When police arrived they found an adult male with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene and detectives say they are not looking for suspects in the case.

At 8:30 police were sent to 24th and P Street in southeast Omaha to investigate a second shooting. They found a male victim who was transported to Nebraska Medicine in extremely critical condition. He later was pronounced dead.

Both deaths are under investigation.
