Chuck McGinnis, the head football coach at Crete High School for the past 16 years is stepping down. He led the Cardinals to the playoffs in 15 of those season, bringing Class B state titles home to Crete in 2000, ’06, ’07 and ’10. He had a .722 winning percentage with a 130-50 record. McGinnis says he plans to follow his sons Derek, who plays football at Washburn University and Alex, who will play at Nebraska-Kearney…both were quarterbacks under the dad.
