The 19th-ranked Nebraska softball team lost to No. 6 Florida State on Sunday, 3-2, finishing the weekend winless in two games against the Seminoles and Georgia State and another game against Western Kentucky.
In two games against the Yellowjackets, NU was outscored 22-4, getting run-ruled in each game. They fell to the Hilltoppers 5-1 and lost close games to Florida State, including a 4-1 loss on Friday night.
Nebraska grabbed its first lead of the weekend when junior Kiki Stokes hit the second pitch of the game over the wall in center for a leadoff home run.
Florida State answered back with three runs in the bottom of the frame. The first two Seminoles walked before Alex Powers hit a three-run homer.
After the rocky start, freshman right-hander Kaylan Jablonski settled in while producing the best start of her young career. She allowed only one hit and two walks over her final 4.0 innings while retiring the final 10 batters she faced.
The last time Nebraska lost more than three games in a row, came back in the 2012 season.
