The U-S Congress sent the Keystone XL Oil Pipeline bill to President Obama today but word from the White House is he will veto it.
Nebraska 2nd District U-S Congressman Brad Ashford remains optimistic the permit will eventually be signed. He says, “Canada is our largest trading partner in the world. They are going to get their oil out of Canada some way. I support it. It seems to me almost silly not to.”
Congressman Ashford is also concerned about our reliance on oil from the Middle East. He recently returned from that region to meet with U-S military, heads of state and diplomatic corps regarding ISIS and other terrorist groups. Congressman Ashford says the U-S needs to be very concerned because ISIS is now controlling oil fields in eastern Iraq.
