United States Attorney Deborah Gilg reports 24-year-old Shantoria Valentine-Deguenon has been sentenced after a federal grand jury found her guilty in December.
In late July of last year, Valentine-Deguenon walked into the Wells Fargo bank in Ralston and slipped a note to two tellers, claiming she had a bomb. Valentine-Deguenon also yelled that she had a bomb, then demanded money. The tellers complied. She fled the bank.
A man sitting in his car in the bank parking lot followed Valentine-Deguenon from the bank and ordered her to the ground in the Ralston Middle School parking lot, allowing police to catch up with her and arrest her. Valentine-Deguenon had $1,213 on her from the bank.
