Nebraskans can hear about what it is like living in Palestine tonight at the University of Nebraska – Omaha. Ayah Bashir lives in Gaza and says it isn’t just women who are oppressed.
Bashir says, “How men in Gaza don’t have jobs. We have a high level of unemployment because we can’t import or export. Gaza is a costal city and we are unable to use our resources because we cannot fish. We see the sea and you cannot go and fish there. How farmers cannot reach their farms because Israel will shoot at them on the border line.”
Bashir is one of three women that will take part in a Palestinian Speak Out event tonight at the University of Nebraska – Omaha. The event starts at 6:30.
