The ATF is considering a ban on certain ammo for AR-15 rifles.
This as some members of Congress in an uproar as they will have no say in that decision process. Lawmakers opposed to the ban of M855 ammo sent a letter to the ATF director Monday condemning the ban.
Opponents of the ban believe that since the Obama Administration failed in banning certain weapons this is their round-about way of doing so.
Nebraska 3rd District Congressman Adrian Smith opposes the ban saying, “I think the president is going around Congress in this situation because he knows that even when the democrats were control of the House and the Senate they couldn’t get gun control through, even the Pelosi controlled House.”
Congressman Smith is one of many lawmakers on Capitol Hill that signed a letter sent to the ATF director on Monday condemning their action. He says so far there has been no response and they are under no obligation to do so.
