Death investigation complete on an 8 year old Fremont girl

April 24, 2015 By Karla James

Fremont police completed their investigation in the tragic death last month of an 8 year old Fremont girl.   After Eva Imus was injured at home, Fremont Police Chief Jeff Elliott says a babysitter was driving her to the hospital when the vehicle was involved in an accident. He says Eva was then put into another private vehicle and continued to the hospital where she later died.

Autopsy results show the Eva died from injuries she sustained at home. Chief Elliott says, “We completed the investigation and Miss Imus died from injuries seen as the result of an accident that occurred when an old tube-type television fell from a dresser.”

Chief Elliott says the autopsy shows Eva died from severe head injuries including blunt trauma to the skull and a skull fracture.

Eva was a second grade student at Bell Field Elementary School in Fremont.
