The Nebraska volleyball team swept Kansas State 25-13, 25-11, 25-23 on Saturday night, in front of a sold-out crowd of 6,006 at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island,
Kadie Rolfzen had 12 kills and Alicia Ostrander had 10. Kelsey Fien had nine kills and five blocks, and Amber Rolfzen had four kills and nine blocks. The Huskers outblocked Kansas State 16-4 and outhit them .294 to .036.
The Wildcats were an NCAA Tournament team from a year ago.
Grand Island Central Catholic product Katie Brand had 25 assists and six digs for K-State in her homecoming.
This was Nebraska’s lone exhibition match. The Red/White scrimmage is set for August 22nd. The Huskers first match of the season is Friday August 28th against Tulsa for Nebraska’s own Husker invite. NU will also face Grand Canyon and Pittsburgh that opening weekend.
