Young people up to age 13 can submit a farm-themed photo for a chance to win one of six $1,000 scholarships through Nebraska’s 529 college savings plan program.
State Treasurer Don Stenberg says the objective of the contest is to familiarize young families with the college savings program and acquaint young children with farm and rural life.
“You just submit a photo taken on a farm or a ranch and we’ll select six winners. It will be a drawing. And the six winners will each receive a thousand dollar college scholarship through the Nebraska Educational Savings Trust (NEST),” Stenberg tells Brownfield Ag News. “There will be two from each Congressional district. So we’ll be sure that people all over the state we’ll have a chance to be winners.”
