An owner of an investment firm in India died in a car crash on his way to Eppley Airfield following the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting in Omaha.
His wife was injured in the wreck.
Omaha police report 61-year-old Parag Parikh died at the Nebraska Medical Center. His wife, Geeta Parikh, who is 59, has been hospitalized in critical condition with head and chest injuries.
The Omaha World-Herald reports relatives say the two were making their first trip to Omaha to attend the meeting hosted by Warren Buffett.
Two members of the Parag investment firm, 42-year-old Rajeev Thakkar of Mumbai, India and 29-year-old Raunak Onkar of Maharastra, were traveling with the couple. Both were treated for minor injuries at Nebraska Medical Center and released.
The car carrying the four collided with a pick-up driven by 63-year-old Daniel Vacek of Omaha at an intersection in Omaha early Sunday morning. Vacek suffered a minor shoulder injury. Police say Vacek had the right of way.
