Lincoln received over six and a half inches of rain on Wednesday.  Hawks Field, home of the Husker baseball team is under water.  The team needs to weigh the options of where they can play their final home series of the season.  Nebraska will open a three game series with Purdue on Saturday.

Husker coach Darin Erstad is looking for any field within a 2.5-hour drive of campus to play just in case the fields in Lincoln are too wet. He’s pushing to play a doubleheader Saturday because more rain is forecast Sunday.  This series is scheduled for Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Here are some great pics from social media of a remote control boat cruising the outfield. Sophomore pitcher Jake Hohensee shared a pic on Twitter of him standing on the dugout with a golf club tweeting “bit of a water hazard, but great day to play 18.”
