Update: The 25 year old son of a woman murdered Wednesday in Omaha turned himself in to police on Thursday. Roberto Martinez-Marinero will be charged with 1st degree murder in the death of 45 year old Jesus Marinero. She was found Wednesday evening at 4th and Cedar Streets. Her 11 month old son earlier was found alive in a dumpster in La Vista.
The search continues for another son, five year old Josue. A multi-agency search is now underway along the Elkhorn River at the Highway 275 bridge along West Center Road. Omaha police are saying they have reason to believe the boy was thrown into the river.
There are still a lot of unanswered questions in the case of a missing five year old Omaha boy. Police are searching for Josue Ramirez-Marinero. His 11 month old brother was found alive and well inside a dumpster in La Vista Wednesday evening. His mother, 45 year old Jesus Marinero was found dead outside of a home at 4th and Cedar Streets in Omaha Wednesday night.
An Amber Alert was issued for Josue Thursday morning and authorities were searching for a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. That vehicle was located at 21st and Arbor Streets Thursday afternoon. There were two empty car seats inside but no sign of Josue. The Amber Alert was then canceled as the vehicle in question was located.
Josue’s father was taken in for questioning and Immigration and Customs Enforcement was involved in that process.
Omaha police took another man in for questioning. Police were also seen removing items from a home at 22nd and Poppleton Street. No further details there are available.
A news release from Omaha police states they continue to investigate and search for the boy. They will release more information as soon as they are able to.
