Omaha police issued the Amber Alert last week for 5-year-old Josue Ramirez-Marinero after his mother, 45-year-old Jesus Ismenia Marinero, was found dead and his brother, 11-month-old Angel Ramirez-Marienero, was found in a dumpster.
Omaha police booked 25-year-old Roberto Martinez-Marinero Friday and charged him with first-degree murder in the death of Marinero, his mother. Martinez-Marinero has reportedly confessed to the murder and told investigators he threw his 5-year-old brother in the Elkhorn River.
The 11-month-old boy has been returned to his father, Jose Ramirez.
Marinero and her two boys had last been seen last Tuesday at a children’s day care center.
A couple out walking last Wednesday spotted the body of Marinero near Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha. Earlier, Angel had been found wearing only a diaper in a dumpster at the Alpine Village Apartments.
The Omaha Police Chief stated Martinez-Marinero turned himself in at the Douglas County Jail Thursday evening. He told detectives he killed his mother, left Angel in a dumpster, and threw Josue in the river.
