A judge denied bond for a 25 year old man accused of killing his mother and 5 year old brother. Roberto Marinero faces two first degree murder charges in the death of Jesus Marinero and Josue Ramirez-Marinero last week in Omaha. He also is charged kidnapping for abducting his 11 month old brother, Angel.
Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine says Jesus Marinero had been stabbed and her face and head beaten with what appeared to have been a baseball bat. He says she was killed prior to the two younger brothers being taken from the home.
Kleine says they believe Marinero then placed Angel into a dumpster in La Vista. The boy was found alive. He says Marinero then is accused of driving to the Elkhorn River Bridge on West Center Road and throwing five year old Josue into the water. Josue’s body was recovered Monday.
Marinero’s girlfriend, Gabriela Guevara is being held on a $1-million bond. She is charged with five counts as an accessory to murder for hiding evidence and helping to carry Jesus’ body to the car.
