Kayla Scott is flying out of Omaha today and heading to Texas to help those impacted by Sunday’s tornado. Scott is a major gift officer with the Nebraska – Southwest Iowa Region of the American Red Cross and will be working with donors who provide critical disaster funding used to provide food, shelter, clothing, water and emergency relief supplies to storm victims.
Scott says, “This is the time deploying to a disaster but locally I was part of a disaster response last spring in Nebraska. I’m excited to help make a difference for families who have lost nearly everything.”
Along with several areas in Texas, Red Cross volunteers are providing shelter, meals and supplies to those hit by severe weather in Iowa, Oklahoma, Arkansas and South Dakota.
