The Nebraska’s basketball coaches are getting contract extensions. Tim Miles and Connie Yori have had their contracts extended through 2020. Miles receives a one-year extension to an original signing that was good for seven-years and was already extended by one year. Yori’s extension in for two year.
Yori, the 2013 and 2014 Big Ten coach of the year, has led the Huskers to four consecutive NCAA Tournaments while averaging 24 victories over the past four seasons. She’ll start her 14th season later this fall.
Miles is 47-49 through three seasons, and led the Husker men to the NCAA Tournament two season ago and was named Big Ten coach of the year. Last season, the Huskers fell to 13-18. Miles’s salary for last season was just over $1.65 million. Beginning in 2017, his salary will be over $2 million. Yori’s salary last year was $707,000. Financial terms of the deal were not released. The athletic department saying they haven’t been finalized.
