A two-year-old boy kidnapped by his non-custodial mother in Missouri has been found, unharmed, in Nebraska.

Missouri authorities had feared for the safety of Colton Lee Dominquez. [see earlier story]

Authorities say Colton and his mother, Billie Jo Linhart, were taken into custody without incident by the Omaha Police Department’s Child Victim/Sexual Assault unit.

The Jefferson City, Missouri Police Department had issued an endangered person advisory for Dominquez after his mother, the 31-year-old Linhart, failed to return him to his Court Appointed Guardian May 17th. Linhart does not have custody of Colton. Jefferson City police believed Linhart might have taken the child to Nebraska and investigators say information indicated he might have been in danger.

Jefferson City police say they received an anonymous tip that the two might be in Omaha. They called Omaha police who took the child into custody and arrested the mother.

Arrangements are underway to return Colton to his legal guardian.

Linhart will be transported to Jefferson City to face charges.
