A Grand Island woman has been arrested after a fatal hit and run crash on Interstate 80.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports 29-year-old Mandy MacDonald has been charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Motor Vehicle Homicide.
According to NSP, troopers responded to reports of a hit and run crash on westbound I-80 near the Greenwood Exit in Cass County. Witnesses told troopers a car traveling west on I-80 had been weaving erratically, then drove into the median, came out of the median, and collided with a westbound sports utility vehicle.
The crash forced the SUV to roll into a ditch, ejecting the driver, 50-year-old Kristine Olson of Grand Island, from the vehicle. Olson died at the scene.
NSP says MacDonald drove on until stopped in Lancaster County by a trooper and taken to the Cass County Jail.
