State Sen. Bill Kintner of Papillion has made quite a splash with a Facebook post.
On Wednesday, Sen. Kintner posted, or someone else posted, a photo of a beheaded woman on his page. He has since removed the post.
Kintner says he posted the picture to make a point regarding the repeal of the state’s death penalty.
Kintner posted on his Facebook page, “According to the Nebraska Legislature, the thugs that did this should just be locked away and well fed for the next 50 years of their live. Anyone think the Legislature is thinking clearly?”
Kintner added that is not what the people of Nebraska want.
Kintner says he didn’t even know if the photo was real and speculates it most likely was produced through photo-shop.
After more than 250 people commented on the posting, Kintner said he made his point and removed it Wednesday evening.
Kintner says the liberal anti-death penalty “went ballistic” while supporters said “good point – that is exactly the problem”.
