A new flat seam ball has brought the home run back into college baseball this season but will it mean more round-trippers at the College World Series. Damani Leech of the NCAA says home runs were up 40 percent during the regular season and up 50 percent during post-season play.
In the four years the College World Series has been played at TD Ameritrade Park, only 25 home runs have been hit in 59 games. Just three were hit in each of the last two years.
Arkansas will play Virginia in the CWS opener on Saturday afternoon.
