Competitors will be hitting the streets in the town of Brownville on the Fourth of July for the annual Freedom Run. It will be the 13th year for the event that began as a fun run and now includes a half-marathon, 10K and 5K.
Race Director Paul Fish says the first half-marathon event in the town of 132 people drew about 20 runners and has grown to more than 400 runners.
The run has become a big part of Brownville’s Freedom Day Celebration and will begin at 7:00a.m. on Saturday.
